This is the Human Use of Human Beings, a newsletter that will, initially at least, be primarily about the ongoing and quite fractious “debate” over sex and gender from the perspectives of philosophy, logic, and science. Although some of those discussions may be informed and illuminated by various principles and concepts from the book which the title of this Substack is based on.

Later posts and discussions will hopefully branch out into broader issues, many related to the topics of sex and gender, and many of which are related to, as that book’s foreword puts it, “the social issues raised by the dramatically increasing role of science and technology” in this new technological age of ours.
